Roseroot (Rhodiola rosea) Canada Native
Price range: $7.00 through $13.00 excluding_tax
Description
Rhodiola rosea may not be native to Alberta but its relative Rhodiola integrafolia is. I just found that Rhodiola rosea is actually native to northern portions of Canada like Nunavut and Quebec. Both are suited to cold, harsh climates but Rhodiola rosea is better suited to medicinal production of the roots which contain the adaptogenic constituents that are thought to enhance work performance, improve cognitive function and reduce fatigue. Alberta is a world leader in the commercial medicinal production of Roseroot and on a smaller scale it is a nice rock garden plant as well. Its common name is due to the fact that the roots smells like rose petals which is another lovely trait!
These guys take awhile to grow, but we finally have some available!
